CBI clears Nilangekar in Adarsh scam

 Former Maharashtra chief minister Shivajirao Patil-Nilangekar heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday after the CBI issued a clean to him in the Adarsh Housing Society scandal.

In an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court, the investigating officer S S Giri stated that enquiry and scrutiny of available documentary evidence and laid down laws and rules indicates that there was no criminal misconduct on part of Patil-Nilangekar.

Thus the affidavit argued that the agency has decided not to include Nilangekar and others as accused in the charge sheet as demanded by social activist Pravin Wategaonkar.

Wategaonkar told media that while he has withdrawn his application of 2013, he has decided to approach the trial court.
