Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday wrote to BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, asking him to clarify his relationship with Mukesh Ambani.

He also wanted Modi to clarify whether he would reduce price of gas, being paid to Ambani, from $8 per BTU to $4.

Kejriwal would also write a similar letter to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
The letter released to the media asked three questions: Whether Modi would reduce the price of gas? What relation he and his party had with Mukesh Ambani? How much money was he spending on election campaign and from where were the funds coming in? The letter questioned how Modi got helicopters and private planes and whether he was paying for the services. Kejriwal said news reports suggested that both he and Gandhi used helicopters and private planes owned by Ambani.

The letter raised questions about Modi’s campaign funds. “It is being speculated that you are spending several crores on a rally. Whose money is this?  People say Mukesh Ambani is funding your campaign,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal also questioned Modi and Gandhi’s silence over the hike in price of gas supplied by Ambani. The AAP leader also questioned the BJP’s support to Parimal Nathwani – group president of Ambani’s company – to ensure his return to the Rajya Sabha.

“It creates doubt in the minds of the people that what is the relation you and your party has with Mukesh Ambani,” Kejriwal said. Kejriwal asked how could Modi bring back black money stashed by Ambani in Swiss banks. He also mentioned two account numbers held by Ambani.
