Last Updated 21 February 2014, 18:17 IST

Gadget lovers are set for a treat with Samsung launching an array of new products across categories including TVs, refrigerators and smartphones.

Known for its competitiveness and impressive sales in the television sector, the South Korean electronic major has revolutionised entertainment by introducing a curve in the ultra-high definition (UHD) world.

Unveiling the curved UHD smart television at the Southwest Asia forum in Bali recently, Rajeev Bhutani, Director, Sales, Samsung India, said: “As TV is not the only screen today, we needed to deliver an enhanced viewing, and this led to our 78-inch, 65-inch and 55-inch models, which are capable of delivering one billion colours, 64 times more than the standard monitor.”

Its auto-depth enhancer feature gives viewers a 3D effect without glasses. “This is the most-curved television in the world giving a wider field of view and  panoramic effect. For cricket lovers, it has an added bonanza wherein the zoom option takes you closer to action,” Bhutani said. This year, the company pins its growth hopes on UHDs.

Riding on consumer lifestyle, coupled with engineering and design expertise, the company has rolled out food-case refrigerators, which are three times bigger than the conventional ones. It has three zones comprising cooking, family and kids. The kids zone is easily accessible and the case can be detached and placed directly on the table. It is likely to be in the market by the second quarter of this year.

Key launches from the smartphone major’s stable included two tablets: Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Sleek and lightweight, the Galaxy Note Pro with a 12.2-inch screen is the largest tablet, and is packed with multi-tasking features. It would be priced at Rs 64,900.

Country Head of IT & Mobile Vineet Taneja said, “The Galaxy Note 3 Neo aims at youngsters and has features with access to Club Samsung content store, where users can enjoy music, movies and mobile TV in nine Indian languages.” It comes in black, white, and mint green colours. It is powered by a hexa-core processor, runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will be available in the market by March-end. It will be priced at Rs 40,900

Other durables launched at the forum included washing machines, triangle-shaped split ACs and two new cameras, with cutting-edge technologies, which will hit the market in the second quarter of this year.

President and CEO, Southwest Asia, Samsung Electronics, B D Park said the company would continue to innovate for better lifestyle, offering products that awe consumers.
