Nicolas Pooran’s superlative 143 (160b, 14x4, 6x6) gave West Indies a brief flicker but Australia were too professional and won their quarterfinal encounter by five wickets here at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
West Indies had fallen into a deep hole at 70/8 after26.3 overs but Pooran went on the attack as he carted the Australian bowlers to all parts of the ground to give a sense of respectability to the total.
