<p>The government will help officials on the verge of retirement learn tricks of life after leaving the job.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The Ministry of Personnel, Pensions and Public Grievances has asked departments to conduct pre-retiring counselling and workshops to prepare officials for a life after retirement. The workshops will primarily focus on helping such employees gain knowledge about availing pensionary dues, CGHS benefits, financial investments and the will.<br /><br />At a recent meeting of the Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA), dealing with pension issues, Minister of State V Narayanasamy said a slew of initiatives have been taken. <br /><br />According to minutes of the February 5 meeting, an online pension sanction and payment tracking system called “Bhavishya” is in operation in 15 organisations and departments. “This would benefit individual pensioners as well as administrative authorities,” he said.<br /><br />Another initiative was “Sankalp”, launched to channelise skill and experience of pensioners into socially useful and constructive work. This will be taken up on a pilot basis initially for 500 pensioners, he said. <br /><br />“This will give pensioners continuous satisfaction and fulfillment as they will continue to contribute to the society and nation building,” he said.<br /></p>
