<p>A 27-year-old Nigerian was allegedly robbed, thrashed and thrown out of a moving car by unidentified assailants on the pretext of giving him a lift in south Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The victim has been identified as Samuel, a resident of south-east Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. Police said he is married to a woman from West Bengal but lives in the Capital alone.<br /><br />“On Monday, Samuel had gone to meet some of his friends in Deoli village. The incident took place when he lost his way while returning home,” said a police officer.<br />Samuel spotted a car occupied by five persons and asked them for directions.<br /><br />The car occupants, in turn, asked him to sit in the car saying ‘they were going to the same place’.<br /><br />Soon after Samuel got into the vehicle, the occupants told him to hand over cash and other articles.<br /><br />When he resisted, the accused beat him up. They even used an iron rod during the assault and then threw him out of the moving vehicle in a secluded place.<br />“Samuel managed to meet some locals at a nearby bus stand. They helped him inform police,” the officer added.<br /><br />A police control room van staff reached the spot and rushed Samuel to the AIIMS trauma centre.<br /><br />He sustained minor injuries and was discharged after first-aid treatment.<br />A case under Indian Penal Code has been registered with Pul Prahladpur police station. <br /><br />In his statement to police, Samuel said that his mobile phone and wallet were taken away by the robbers.<br /></p>
