2 killed in separate accidents

Two persons have been killed in separate accidents in the City since Tuesday night. Manjunath, 28, a resident of Devanahalli, was returning  home from Chikkaballapur on his bike when he rammed a cargo vehicle  on Devanahalli Road after its driver suddenly applied brakes.

A grievously injured was Manjunath rushed to Devanahalli government hospital, where he was declared dead. The driver has been arrested. 

In another accident, Abdul Sattar, 71, a resident of Yelahanka, died of injuries he sustained when a two-wheeler hit him on Do­­ddaballapur Road. He was rushed to Nimhans where he succumbed to injuries. Police are in search of the two-wheeler rider.

2 held for ‘selling’ ganja 

Police arrested Binay Kumar, 28, and Babu Prasad, 35, both from Bihar, and reportedly seized about five kg of ganja worth Rs 80,000 and two cellphones from them.

On a tip-off, police arrested them at a playground near Bangalore East railway station when they were allegedly trying to sell the banned substance. They had procured it in Bihar and came to Bangalore to sell it at a higher price.
