John, Medappa file nominations

So far, 8 persons have filed their nominations. Congress-JD(S) candidate T John submitted his nomination paper to Deputy Commissioner K H Ashwathanarayana Gowda. S G Medappa filed nomination from BJP, Kushalnagar BJP unit former president G L Nagaraj filed nomination as BJP rebel candidate. Kudiyara Muthappa filed as independent candidate.

This is the first time that three candidates have nominations as rebel candidate from BJP. They include MLA M P Appacchuranjan’s brother Suja Kushalappa, Kushalnagar APMC former president C P Gopal, Kushalnagar BJP town unit former president G L Nagaraj. The independent candidates include ZP former president H S Ashok, Veerashaiva Samaja district unit president S P Mahadevappa.

MLC M C Nanaiah, Congress leaders Mittu Changappa, C S Arun Machaiah, T P Ramesh, JD(S) District President Shanthu Appaiah M A Ramesh and others were present when T John filed the nomination. When BJP candidate S G Medappa filed nomination, the absence of MLA M P Appacchuranjan, BJP district unit President Sunil Subramani could be seen.
