Rajasekharan against nightlife extension

Senior Congress leader M V Rajasekharan has opposed the government’s decision to extend nightlife in Bangalore, allowing bars and restaurants to function till 1 am.

In a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he has termed the decision unfortunate. “I am deeply pained. The Congress party has accepted the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. So it has been in power in both the State and the Centre,” he said urging the government to set up a committee, comprising officials and intellectuals to obtain a report on advantages and disadvantages of the decision.

Till then, the government should put its decision on hold, he added.
