GJM promises to support BJP candidates

Deciding to throw his weight behind the saffron party's candidate in Darjeeling, Bimal Gurung refused to support Trinamool candidate and ace footballer Bhaichung Bhutia. The GJM pledged its support to other BJP candidates in West Bengal too, and announced the decision on Gurung's Facebook account on Monday morning.

He wrote on the social networking site: “After meeting BJP president Rajnath Singh, the GJM has decided to extend full support to candidates fielded by the BJP all over Indiaand Darjeeling. I would appeal to all Gorkhas to support the BJP all over India. The name of the candidate for Darjeeling will be announced after the BJP releases its election manifesto.”
