Acidic foods and drinks can cause erosion. This can start within 20 minutes of eating or drinking. If you wish to eat these foods, have them as part of a meal when they will do less harm.<br /><br />Chew sugar-free gum<br />Chew sugar-free gum for 20 minutes after meals and snacks. It has been proven to help reduce the risk of tooth decay. Although chewing sugar-free gum is an enjoyable way to look after your teeth when you are out, you should still brush your teeth twice every day.<br /><br />Brush your teeth twice a dayTeeth can decay overnight, while you are asleep. So brush your teeth before going to bed as well as in the morning.
