A labourer was beaten to death by two of his colleagues in west Delhi’s Mundka on Monday.

He was killed during a heated argument after Holi celebrations in a property dealer’s office.

The accused have been arrested in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh district, police said.
Raju Tiwari, 26, and Daleep Tripathi, 28, worked with Drall Properties at Tikri Kalan village.

Police said Daleep was earlier arrested in a rape case at Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and was on bail.

Around 7 pm on Monday, police were informed about a murder. At the spot, police found the body of Bharat Kumar Chaudhary, who belonged to Madhubani in Bihar and worked as a labourer.

“He had multiple injuries on his head. Trails of blood of his body led the police team to the office of Drall Properties.

“At the office, there was a pool of blood on the floor and splashes of blood were also on the wall. There appeared to have been a scuffle before the assailant killed the victim,” said Ranvir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).

Raju and Daleep stayed in the office, where they allegedly murdered Bharat. Police said the accused claimed that on Holi, three other persons consumed alcohol on the first floor of the office with them.

Raju then slept on a bed at the ground floor, while the others went outside.

Around 5 pm, Bharat who had gone to his native place, reached the office. He became angry when he saw Raju sleeping on the floor.

He directed Raju to leave the office. An argument took place between Raju and Bharat, which turned into a fight. Daleep and a co-worker, Rambir, rushed inside the office.

“Raju hit Bharat with a wooden handle of a spade that was kept in the office. When Bharat retaliated, Raju and Daleep attacked him with two spades. Bharat fell. Raju then dragged his body from the office and dumped it at a lane,” Singh added.

Raju and Daleep then fled from the murder scene.

They reached Bahadurgarh, where Raju had earlier worked. They had planned to leave for their native places in the morning after the murder took place. But they were apprehended.
