This scribe has assets worth `55 lakh

 Columnist Prathapa Simha, who filed his nomination papers as the BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from Mysore-Kodagu constituency, here, on Thursday, has total assets worth Rs 55.85 lakh. Also, he has liabilities of Rs 43 lakh.

His wife J S Arpitha has assets worth Rs 7.36 lakh.

According to the affidavit submitted by Simha, he has Rs 30,000 cash in hand, while his wife J S Arpitha has Rs 5,000. He has a share amount of Rs 20,000 at Karnataka Journalist Cooperative Society, Bangalore, with recurring deposit of Rs 3,800.

He also has shares worth Rs 1,200 and Rs 4,584 in the SB account at Sir M Visvesvaraya Cooperative Bank Ltd in Bangalore and Rs 23,639 in the SB account of State Bank of India, Shivajinagar branch, Bangalore.

Interestingly Simha’s wife has a meagre Rs 5 in the SB account of Canara Bank, Moodbidre branch, and the highest of Rs 1,997 in the SB account of HDFC Bank, Chikmagalur branch.

That apart, she has Rs 272. 58 at the SB account of State Bank of Mysore, Chikmagalur branch.

Simha’s movable assets include a Hyundai i20 car of 2011 make worth Rs 5.30 lakh, Maruti Swift car of 2006 model worth Rs 90,000 and a Bajaj Pulsar motorbike worth Rs 12,000. His wife has gold valuables worth Rs 3.96 lakh and silver worth Rs 33,000.

Among immovable assets, Simha owns a site in the dimension of 30x50 ft at Saptagiri Nagar, Hosakerehalli, BSK second stage, Bangalore, estimated worth Rs 48 lakh, according to the current market value. His wife too owns a site in the dimension of 60x40 allotted by Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), at fourth stage, second phase, Vijayanagar, in Mysore. It’s current market value is estimated at Rs 3 lakh.

Simha has also availed loans from various banks to the tune of Rs 43 lakh. He owes Rs 29 lakh to Axis Bank, Bangalore, Rs 2.67 lakh to SBI, Bangalore, Rs 6.80 lakh to Sreeman Chits Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, and Rs 3.96 lakh to Mathagi Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited, Bangalore, and  Rs 1.24 lakh to Karnataka Journalists’ Cooperative Society.
