Tutor held for 'molesting' girl

A 6-year-old girl was sexually harassed allegedly by her tutor near her home in Gangondanaalli on Wednesday, police said.

The girl and her brother used to attend Quran classes run by their neighbour Abdul Bari, 34, a native of Bihar. According to the police complaint made by her mother, her children had gone to attend the class on Wednesday. While the boy returned home in an hour, there was no sight of the victim.

The worried mother went to the suspect’s house to look for her daughter but she did not find her there. The door of the kitchen in the house was locked. The girl’s mother asked for the suspect who claimed that the victim had gone home, police added.

A while later, the girl returned home. When the mother asked her where she was, the girl is said to have told her that the teacher had touched her private parts. The mother panicked and called her husband who then made a complaint to the police. Thereafter, the suspect was arrested.
