Disabled made to stand on their day

 
On the occasion of World Disabled Day, many disabled persons were left in the lurch without enough seating arrangements. Many visually challenged, hearing impaired and people with other disabilities with crutches were made to stand and witness a function organised by the Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare Department on Thursday.

Very few buildings in the City are disabled-friendly. But even on their day, the approach route to the place of the event was not made friendly to them. The event organised at Jawahar Bal Bhavan saw many people on their wheelchair struggling to cross the grid to reach the place of the event. More than 1000 disabled people, including children, had participated in the event with many sitting from 8 am till 12 pm without breakfast.
