Public Instruction dept gears up for SSLC examinations

42,797 students in district to attend exams from tomorrow

As many as 42,797 students are hoped to be involved in final preparations for the SSLC examinations, as the examinations will commence on Friday. 

Among the students, 40,577 are freshers, while the remaining 2,220 students will reappear for their examinations. Among the freshers, 20,616 (50.8 per cent) candidates are boys while 19,961 (49.2 per cent) candidates are girls.

A total of 147 examination centres have been set up in seven taluks of the district for the examinations. In H D Kote taluk, 10 examination centers have been set up, where students from 53 schools will appear for the examination.

In Hunsur, students of 56 schools will attend the examinations in 14 centres; students of 66 schools in K R Nagar will attend examinations at 12 centres; students of 106 schools from Mysore (North) will appear for exams at 28 centres, 26 examination centres have been set up for students from 85 schools of Mysore (South); 15 examination centres have been set up for students of 80 schools of Mysore taluk; 17 examination centres have been set up for students of 55 schools in Nanjangud taluk; 12 examination centres have been set up for students of 45 schools of Periyapatna taluk and 13 examination centres have been set up for students of 58 schools from T Narsipur taluk.

DDPI H R Basappa said, a minimum of 12 teachers have been deputed at every examination centre in the district. Apart from it, a chief superintendent and two sitting squads will be present at the centres to prevent malpractice in the examinations. Taluk and district level squads have also been formed in this regard, he said.

On March 28, examination for first language will be held. On 29, deaf and dumb students will appear for elements of computer science paper. Mathematics exam will be held on April 1, Science on April 3, third language on April 4, Social Science on April 7 and second language examination will be held on April 9.
