“We will perform at companies, factories, near schools, commercial junctions such as Mantri Mall, Garuda Mall, MG Road, among others. The plays will be staged with the support of the Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka,” said K V Nagaraj Murthy, Convener, SVEEP Bangalore.

Apart from this, rangoli patterns with messages about voting will be drawn in front of 8,000 houses in the City, starting from Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner M Laxminarayana said that the objective of the initiative is to increase the voter turnout and create awareness on voting among the public.

The rangoli patterns will be drawn by a total of 40 people from Samarpana Samaja Spandana Sangha, an NGO, in front of households in Rajajinagar 1st and 2nd Block, BTM 1st and 4th Stage, Basaveshwaranagar, Vijayanagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Malleswaram.

“Around 2000 rangoli patterns will also be drawn at Cubbon Park, Lal Bagh, JP Park, Sankey Tank and at a few government offices. Along with this, banners will also be put up at parks. The volunteers will be using rangoli plates to make a pattern.
