Walkathon for the differently-abled

More than 1,000 people took part in the event. The walkathon brought together people who share similar concerns about protection of urban environment and the need to create an inclusive society for people with disability.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahantesh Kivadasannavar, Founder and Managing Trustee of Samarthanam said that the disabled dream of an inclusive society. The walkathon was followed by cultural programmes.

G Jayaram, Director of Department of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens, Dr Mahesh Joshi, Sr Director Doordarshan, I R Perumal Commissioner and Director of Sericulture and veteran actor Shivaram were present.
