Modi to address rally today

Security beefed up in Chikmagalur 

BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will address an election rally at Subhashchandra Bose district grounds in Chikmagalur on Sunday.

He will campaign for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency candidate Shobha Karandlaje and Hassan candidate Vijayashankar. The BJP has made all arrangements for the rally. Chairs have been kept neatly for the participants. 

More than 1,000 police personnel have been deployed for the security. The main stage has been erected under the guidance of Central Security Force. A team of police from Gujarat has already arrived the city.  

Mangalore City Police Commissioner and in-charge IGP (Western range) Hithendra is camping in the city to look into the security aspect. Five DySP will be in charge of the security. MLA C T Ravi visited the ground to take a stock of the arrangement on Saturday. 

The entry for VIPs is allowed in gate number one and six. Parking arrangements have already been made for the vehicles arriving the rally. All the vehicles from Mudigere and Belur should be parked at railway station.

The vehicles from Kadur should be parked at APMC and coffee curing premises in front IDSG College. Separate seating arrangements have been made for former MLAs, MLAs and former ministers. 

To create awareness on Modi’s visit, the BJP Yuva Morcha members took out a bike rally in the city on Saturday. The rally was flagged off at Bolarameshwara temple premises and passed through  main roads in the city.
