Lorry stir may affect construction

G R Shanmugappa, president of the truck federation said sand and jelly transporters would be on an indefinite strike. “We have already held many rounds of talks with officials from the Mines and Geology Department, including one with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. But, authorities have turned a deaf-ear to our problems” he said.

 “We have been for long demanding to issue a single permit to transport, construction materials, but the issue has not been resolved” added Shanmugappa.
The federation said it has told all goods trucks to stop transporting sand and jelly from Monday midnight.
