As many as 200 people of Kelagina Muliya in Alike village in Bantwal taluk have to cast their votes at a polling station which is situated at a distance of 10 kms from the village.

The villagers have urged the concerned to look into the issue. The voters complained though the Muliya school is at a distance of half a kilometer, they have been allotted the Alike polling station.

“We have been making pleas with the officials concerned from last five years. But there has been no response. This problem has occurred due to the interests of some politicians who think that if the polling booths are made separate, votes will get divided,” said villager V K Sharma.

The people opine that if the voters from Kelagina Muliya are facilitated to cast their vote in Muliya Thimmappaiah Memorial High School and Simhamoole residents in Alike Sathyasayi Loka Seva Visya Samsthe, the problems of both the regions will solve.
