DK registers 77.19 pc polling, highest in State

Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituenncy has registered 77.19 per cent polling on Thursday. The percentage announced on Thursday evening (76.67 pc) was tentative and the correct figure was obtained only on Friday.

Incidentally, DK also tops the poll percentage among 28 constituencies in the State.
The total number of voters in the constituency is 15,64,114. A total of 12,07,262 have exercised their franchise, thus registering 77.19 per cent polling. A total of 6,11,691 female voters have cast their votes while 5,95,571 male voters have polled. 

Sullia has recorded highest of 84.42 per cent polling with 1,57,025 voters out of 1,86,015 exercising their franchise. In Puttur constituency, 1,53,764have cast their votes out of 1,86,309 voters and the polling percentage is 82.53.

Bantwal assembly segment has revorded 80.52 per cent polling with 1,62,199 voters out of 2,01,433 exercising francise. Out of 2,00,686 voters in Belthangady assembly constituency, 1,54,033 have cast their vote, thus registering 76.75 per cent polling. 
Similary, Moodbidri has registered 75.04 per cent polling. As many as 1,35,877 voters have cast their votes. 

Mangalore City North has registered 74.78  per cent polling. A total of 1,61,271 out of 2,15,659 have registered their franchise. Mangalore constituency has registered 74.57 pc polling with 1,30,862 of 1,75,499 voters exercising their frnachise. 

The lowest polling was regsitered in Mangalore City South with 70.01 per cent polling. Out of 2,17,429 voters, 1,52,231 had exercised their franchise. 

25 booths register 90 pc polling

A total of 25 polling booths have registered more than 90 per cent polling that include two each in Mangalore and Puttur assembly constituencies and 21 in Sullia assembly constituency. The DK ZP Higher Primary School at Madappady (North wing) in Sullia registered highest poll percentage with 95.03 per cent.

Out of 624 voters (317 male, 307 female), 593 voters (304 male and 289 female) have exercised their franchise

The other booths which registered above 90 per cent polling include DK ZP Higher Primary School Kodman (North wing) and (South wing) - 91.13 pc and 91.28 pc respectively (both in Mangalore); Vivekananda Polytechnic College, Nehru nagara, Padnuru (90.81 pc) and DK ZP Higher Primary School,  Beernahitlu, Chikkamudnuru (West Wing) (91.26 pc), both in Puttur; and the rest in Sullia which are: DK ZP Higher Primary School, Kadya, Konaje (90.51 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Karimbila (91.88 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Balpa (West wing) (91.28 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Banadka (New building) (90.04 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Kaikamba, Bilinele (90.20 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Ainekidu (91.34 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Ballaka, Haripura (90.84 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Elimale (East wing) (90.24 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Amaimadiyar (90.09 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Ubaradkamithuru (South Wing) (91.30 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Koikuly (90.19 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Mulya Atloor (92.01 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Kanthamangila (92.40 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Kolcharu  (East Wing) (91 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Narkodu (East wing) (90.39 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Narkodu (North Wing) (90.25 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Thodikana (92.21 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Pethaje (91.07 pc); DK ZP Higher Primary School, Madappady (South Wing) (90.80 pc); and DK ZP Higher Primary School, Balugodu (91.58 pc).

74.49 pc in Udupi

The Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency has registered 74.49 per cent polling. Out of 13,86,516 voters in the constituency, 10,32,871 voters have exercised their franchise.

This includes, 5,22,012 female voters. As many as 6,17,515 voters have voted using EPIC. This includes 3,08,218 voters in Udupi district and 3,09,297 voters in Chikmagalur district. A total of 3,70,964 voters have voted using voter slip in the constituency. As many as 44,261 voters have exercised their franchise using alternate voters ID.
