A visibly upset Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday decried what she termed “humiliation” of her family through a “political attack” on her husband Robert Vadra and vowed to fight back saying the attacks will only make her “stronger”.
While addressing an election meeting in her mother and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s Lok Sabha constituency of Raebareli, Priyanka said, “My husband is being humiliated. My family is being attacked. The more we are attacked, the stronger will we emerge.”
She also accused that her opponents were using her husband to make a political attack.
She said that she was “pained” to see such attacks on TV channels. “I tell my children that truth will come out one day,” she added.
“You (people of Raebareli) accepted my mother and showered your affection on her even though she was not born in this country. This is the real identity of this country,” the Congress’s star campaigner told the crowd.
Priyanka said that she had learnt from her grandmother and former prime minister Indira Gandhi that if one was on the path of truth one would emerge stronger by such attacks.
