Confidence and grace on stage

Last Updated 22 April 2014, 13:46 IST
It was a joyous occasion for the students of BMS College for Women as they celebrated the valediction of the golden jubilee of the college and the College Day recently.

The students and faculty had planned an elaborate programme and put up a great show.

After the invocation, principal of the college M Mukambika gave a welcome speech.

This was followed by the presentation on the golden jubilee year as well as distribution of prizes and certificates to office-bearers and students.

The cultural function commenced with the students presenting a colourful programme of dance and music.

Sneha, a student, said that it was a proud moment for most students.

“It felt nice to be a part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the college and we will remember it our entire life. Thanks to the celebrations, we got an opportunity to know more about the college, its history and the alumni much better. We all helped in organising the cultural function. Though our teachers were very helpful, we planned the entire programme,” she said. The cultural function brought many talented students to the fore.

“We had been practising for weeks and made sure that everything was on schedule. The costumes were perfect and we performed with confidence and poise on the stage. The audience appreciated and encourage us from time to time. It was a great show and we had a good time,” says Divya, a student.

The programme also saw students interacting with their teachers and others trying to know more about the college and its history.

It gave the students time with their friends and they could seen chatting and spending time with each other.

“We had something to look forward to all these days. A lot of hard work was involved in the programme. We worked very hard to make the programme successful and it
was nice to see the audience praising us. It was a break from the regular routine
and we will always remember the time spent with friends,” adds Divya.
