Pawan's double century studs Socials' huge win

KB Pawan’s double century was the highlight of Socials Cricket Club’s huge innings and two runs win over Modern Cricket Club in the KSCA Group I, Division I tournament for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield.

A five-wicket haul by Abhishek Bhat helped Socials bundle out Modern for 251, and then they piled up 392 for five in 65.5 overs with Pawan making 215.

Bharath Chipli supported him well with 75 as Socials mustered a handy first-innings lead of 141 runs. In their second innings, Modern failed miserably against left-arm spinner C Raghavendra (7/57) to get rolled over for 139.

Priyanshu shines

Priyanshu Pandey’s all-round effort (85 & 4/31) helped Hammonds Cricket Club beat Swastic Union Cricket Club (2) by 201 runs in the KSCA under-16 inter-club tournament for I, II and III Division teams.

Batting first, Hammonds CC piled on a mammoth 370 all out in 48.3 overs with Priyanshu leading the way.

In reply, SUCC (2) put up some resistance throughAdithya (52) and Keshav (32) but that was not going to be enough as they were bowled out for 169 in 43.5 overs
