Amitabh Bachchan is what Ashok Kumar (Dadamoni) was 40 years ago. Dadomoni would be used to enhance a project. He would not necessarily be the sole-selling factor of a film.

Today, Amitabh Bachchan is not paid a hero’s price. He doesn’t get a fat fee of Rs 30 crore that an actor like Akshay Kumar insists on. At a price tag that moves any where from Rs four to six crore per film, why should Amitabh bear the burden like Akshay having to bring in the audience? That is the hero and the filmmaker’s job.
