He was speaking at Mangalore Taluk Panchayat KDP meeting here on Tuesday. Taluk Panchayat President Ramachandra Kumpala and Zilla Panchayat member Ajeej Malar said Muslim Residential School was started 13 years ago in Natekal.

However, owing to some problem, it was shifted to Thokkottu, where there was drinking water problem. Recently, a section of the students along with parents had staged protest and the district Social Welfare Officer had ordered the Principal of the school to go on leave as departmental enquiry will be conducted against her without bringing the matter to the notice of TP President and ZP members.

The school was doing well under the Principal. Lakhs of rupees were being released for the school. However, no basic infrastructures was provided to the school.

Disparity

ZP member Pramod Kumar said that several schools in rural areas have shortage of teachers. However, schools in city have extra staff members. Why there is this kind of disparity?
