TP resolves against misuse of rented sites

The general body meeting of Town Panchayat was held with President Umesh Shet in chair on Tuesday.

During the meet the members demanded the President to issue notice against those who have built buildings on rented sites and rented the buildings to someone else.

They said that those who have taken sites on rent have not yet paid the site rent of Rs 2.90 lakh but have rented the building for double the site rent.

Members K Y Ramesh, Mohommad Ghaus, Mable Terison, M R Kannan and others raised objection to construction of an extension in Hirekere region. They said that Hirekere has already been contaminated and hence the house in the catchment area which are in turn contaminating the water must be vacated.
