Youth found dead

A male youth was found dead at a farm in Talur in Jayapura hobli in Mysore taluk on Tuesday. Chandrashekar (19), son of Ramadasaiah, Talur was found dead at a farm belonging in his village at around 11 am.

A mason by profession, Chandrashekar had left home on Monday afternoon. However, his parents had not lodged any missing complaint, assuming that he may have gone out on work. However, he was found dead later. South police are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of his death. 

6 held for gambling

City Crime Branch (CCB) police raided gamblers and arrested six persons for the illegal activity. Stake amount of Rs 3,000, eight two-wheelers and other items totalling worth Rs 2.5 lakh were seized from them.

Following an information, the police team led by Inspectors K N Yeshwanth Kumar, Jagadish and H T Sunil Kumar swooped on the gamblers indulging in the card game in a vacant site adjacent to Government High shool at Yaraganahalli in Nazarbad police limits, on April 26.

The arrested have been identified as D Balaraj, Vidyanagar, Shivasagar, Alanahalli, Vasudev and Venkatesh, Kyatamaranahalli, Swamy, Madegowdanahundi and Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Yaraganahalli in the city.

Women rescued

In another case, CCB police raided a house in T K Layout and rescued two women from immoral trafficking. Two men have been arrested in this connection. Mayyadui, aged 39, Allengadivaya and Yogesh Suvarna, Mukka Post, both from Mangalore, who have been arrested were forcing the women into sex at the latter’s house on third main, 10th cross in T K L ayout, when police raided the premises. Five cellphones, one each of car and two-wheeler worth Rs 23,330 have been seized from them, according to a press release.

Pedestrian dies

A security guard was killed after he was hit by a two-wheeler near Sankalp Apartments, Old Jawa Factory road in Yadavagiri on Monday.

Munivenkateshappa (56), a resident of Kailaspuram is the deceased. He was working at an automobile agency at Yadavagiri.

 The mishap occurred when Munivenkateshappa was walking towards home after work around 10 pm. The vehicle with Rakshit of T K Layout in rider’s seat dashed into the victim resulting in his injuries. He died on his way to the hospital.
