Now, SP chief Mulayam makes derogatory comments on Maya

Barely had the dust settled on his controversial remarks questioning death sentence to rapists, and Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo stirred another controversy when he allegedly made derogatory remarks about BSP supremo Mayawati.

Mulayam, while addressing an election rally at Faizabad on Wednesday, said that he often found it difficult to address Mayawati. “I am unable to understand how I should address Mayawati — shrimati, kunwari beti or behen (as Mrs or unmarried daughter or a sister),” he reportedly said.

The BSP chief later condemned the Mulayam remark and said it reflected his ‘anti-women’ mindset.

“Mulayam has shown that he is anti-women,” Mayawati said. A few days ago, Mulayam, at an election rally at Moradabad, said that rapists should not be hanged and boys sometimes committed mistakes.
