Last Updated 01 May 2014, 19:53 IST

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday alleged that the State government had completely failed in taking up drought relief measures.

He demanded that a meeting of the floor leaders of all the political parties should be convened immediately to discuss the issue.

Speaking to reporters, he said people in many parts of the State are facing drinking water shortage. Farmers do not have fodder for their cattle. It appears as if there is no government in the State. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his ministerial colleagues have turned a blind eye to the issue, he alleged.

The former chief  minister said there was no coordination between the ministers and the officials. As a result, the people were suffering. Many districts were facing paucity of funds to take up relief works, he alleged.
