Ahmed was dedicated cop: Friends

 
Meanwhile, Home Minister V S Acharya on Wednesday termed the death of senior police officer B K Naseer Ahmed as “unfortunate.” The officer died even as the State Government was finalising his transfer order.

Ahmed, who was a SP in the CID, was on November 17 transferred to the Home Guards. It was reported that DGP Jija Hari Singh did not allow him to report to his new posting. He then approached the Government and asked to post him back to the CID. His transfer order was almost ready when he suffered a heart attack and died.

Asked why the DGP did not allow Ahmed to report to the duty, Acharya said “she (DGP) wanted an IPS officer to be posted to the place. But Ahmed was non-IPS. It was her perception. When we were thinking of an alternative person to the post and finalising his transfer order back to CID, the incident happened,” he stated.
Condolence meeting was conducted at the head quarters.
