<p>The district has suffered extensive crop damage due to the unseasonal rain and hailstorm in the first week of March.<br /><br />According to the information available with the Agriculture department, the district recorded an average rainfall of 61.8 mm March 3 to March 9. </p>.<p>It rained 72.8 mm in Aurad taluk followed by 60.2 mm in Bhalki, 59.1 mm in Bidar, 58.9 mm in Bassavakalyan and 58 mm in Humanabad.<br /><br />Standing crops on 21,398 hectares were damaged due to the unseasonal rain. Jowar grown on 10,901 hectares had been damaged due to the rains. </p>.<p>Two persons have lost life due to the rain fury till now. <br /><br />The district received 11.7 mm rain in April, which is half the normal rain of 20.2 mm. <br /><br />It has rained 8.1 mm in the first week of May. </p>
