Former IPL Commissioner and president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), Lalit Modi may start a cricket league, the Rajasthan Premier League, at the end of this IPL season.

The tournament might be organised on the lines of IPL, but the Modi has yet to reveal his full plans.

“Modi is soon going to start Rajasthan Premier League. He shared this information a few days back while interacting with the new office bearers via video conferencing,” said Sumendra Tiwari, secretary of RCA. Further discussions about the league would be held during the executive meeting of the RCA in London, he added.

A RCA official on condition of anonymity said the tournament could be an inter-district league, and some big names could feature in it. “Modi is the architect of IPL. Now, that he is at the helm of RCA, he will think big.”
