The programme was organised to pay a musical tribute to martyrs and featured Laya Lahari, a unique percussion ensemble by Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma. There was also a flute jugalbandhi performed by Pravin Godhkindi and M K Pranesh.

The programme commenced by paying homage to the martyrs by lighting lamps for the amar jawan.   Chowdiah hall was  packed with people from all walks of life. A documentary titled Music in the Military was screened which spoke about the association between music and the military for centuries now. It described the different ragas performed and  musical instruments used during different occasions.

The audience were taken by surprise when a military band entered the hall unexpectedly. The 16- member-team clad in striking red and white military band outfits gave a breath taking performance and received an overwhelming response from the audience. The highlight of the evening was the musical concert Laya Lahari by Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma and team that held the audience spellbound. The duo played classical and folk musical instruments as well as instruments used in temples.

They presented a raga called Kadana Kuthuhala gracefully, composed by Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma himself. The team played one more piece in Keervani Raga with aadi taala and a brief alap. The tani-avartana round was excellent. The flute duet by M K Pranesh and Pravin Godkindi  was also of very high standard. Usha Radhakrishnan was the compere for the evening and did a great job.
