<p>Chikodi educational district has retained its crown position in the State for the second consecutive year in the SSLC examination by securing 91.7 per cent results.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Among the 35,152 students who appeared for the examinations, 32,234 passed; 2,803 secured distinction, 15,038 first class, 6,790 second class and 8,304 pass.<br /><br />Out of 494 schools, 445 achieved above 80 pc, 10 schools secured 60 to 80 pc; while two aided schools and an unaided school got 40 to 60 pc. Of these schools, 171 were government schools, 134 aided and 140 aided schools.<br /><br />D M Danoji, DDPI, said various measures were taken to improve SSLC results, that included improving handwriting, answering one mark questions, tests, group study, guidance, and apprising parents of students’ progress.<br /><br />Poor show<br /><br />Though two students from Mysore feature among the top three highest scorers in the State, the district has slipped to 26th position among the districts.</p>
