With the mango, the king of fruits entering the markets, the Karnataka Agribusiness Development Corporation (KABDC) has organised a one-day fun-filled event to treat the taste buds of the fruit lovers.

‘Mango Festival, a trip to the mango heartland,’ an event organised at Srinivasapura, one of the largest mango growing clusters in the State, has a range of activities to offer.

The day-long activity that is scheduled for May 24 at the Mango Development Centre, Hogalagere Farm, Srinivasapura, has been organised by KABDC in association with the Department of Horticulture, Karnataka.

Schedule

Beginning the day with a nature walk in the mango orchards relishing the aroma of the fruits is among the first on the list of activities on reaching the venue. The same would be followed by ‘Exotic Mango Masti Lunch.’

Later in the day, participants will also have activities like mango tasting, wine tasting, watching movies on mangoes, vegetable carving and other games. This would be followed by a visit to mango pack house and discussion with mango growers.

The region has a variety of mangoes to offer. From Alphonso, Bheneshan, Bangenpalli to Totapuri, all of these are grown in abundance. Considering that Bangalore is a prominent domestic market for the season fruit and understanding the need for strengthening the market linkage, the event has been organised.
