Students aspiring to join IITs, appeared for the JEE (Advanced) exam 2014 on Sunday.

Students writing the exam are selected among the top 1.5 lakh who wrote the JEE (main) exam earlier this year. The JEE (Advanced) results hold good for all the 16 IITs in the country and ISM Dhanbad.

According to Dr Sridhar G, Managing Director, Ace Creative Learning, the JEE advanced threw a curve ball with significant change in the combination of patterns. “Paper 1 consisted of multiple correct options and integer answer sections only, which is comparatively difficult, with no negative marking.

Paper 2 came as a surprise that all 60 questions carried negative marking. In both the papers, the standards were higher than last year,” he said, expecting 140 to be the likely cut-off score.

According to experts in BASE who analysed paper I of the exam felt that in all three subjects, the test was moderately difficult as expected. The question paper did not have any negative marking unlike previous years.  The results are expected on June 19.
