The sheer abundance of the water in the ocean is always heart-warming. To experience the surreal magic of exquisite sunsets, come to Ottinene.

Coastal Karnataka, right from south Mangalore to north Karwar, is lined with a number of beaches. Here you can find scenic places like Gokarna, Murudeshwar, Maravanthe, Malpe, Kapu, Suratkal, Panambur and Ullal with their own alluring beaches. Every beach in this region has a unique beauty and charm.

Ottinene is just two km away from the little town of Byndoor. Since this place is worth remembering many times, it has come to be known as Ottinene.

Kshitija Nesara Dhama, managed by the Karnataka Department of Forests, provides some basic facilities for the tourists at the top of the hill. Looking at the sunset from here will surely capture your heart and soul. The surroundings here are so beautiful and lovely that all tourists consider it heaven.

Steps from the top of the hill lead directly down to the beach. Walking along the beach with foamy waves crashing on the shore every minute transcends us to another world.

Day trips are the most popular here. Some tourists play on the cool sand of the beach, while others enjoy a relaxed dip in the water. This place is also a treat for all the photography fanatics who click pictures of every nook and corner.

The Mahila Samaj of our area played a fun game of tug-of-war and enjoyed this harmless game to the fullest. While one group won, the other revelled in the beauty of nature. We all ate yummy snacks and even enjoyed ice creams from a nearby shop.

The town of Byndoor has the age-old temple of Someshwara. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of a linga here. If you head south from this town, you can find the exotic town of Maravanthe. With the ocean on one side and river on the other, the drive through this road is something you will never forget.

If you head north from Byndoor, you will find Murudeshwar which is well known for its huge Shiva Temple. A little away from Byndoor, after Shiroor, is the famous Kosalli Waterfalls. The well-known Kallur Mookambika Temple is also close by. Two km away from this temple, lies the spectacular Arishinagundi Waterfalls.

Take the national highway of Kundapur-Bhatkal in the Karavali-Udupi district to reach Byndoor. Ottinene is two km away from Byndoor, 80 km from Udupi and 40 km away from Kundapur.
