Bike rally to spread message on environment

Around 30 members of the Indian Adventure Academy kickstarted their bike rally on Wednesday, ahead of the World Environment Day.

The rally was flagged off by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Vinay Luthra.

The bikers will travel over 2,000 km, covering Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

They will spread the message of ‘Saving the environment’ and create awareness among the people.

Seventysix-year-old V Krishnaiah, one of the bikers, is participating for the first time.

He said he loved forests and wildlife and was participating in the rally to educate people about conservation.

Painting contest

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in association with the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, on Wednesday organised a state-level essay writing and painting competition for students at Bal Bhavan in Cubbon Park to mark World Environment Day.
