Anirban claims men's TT title

Anirban Roy Choudhary prevailed over Anshuman Roy in straight games to clinch the men’s singles title in the 46th Canara Union State-ranking table tennis tournament here on Monday.

In complete command from the start, South Western Railway’s Anirban defeated Anshuman 11-8, 12-10, 11-6, 11-5.

It was sweet day for Spoorthy MV who grabbed two title. The Learners PU College lass first bagged the Junior girls title by easing past Gayathri Tankasali 11-6, 11-2, 11-6, 11-5 before wearing the Youth title in 11-7, 11-9, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 12-14, 5-11 defeat of Kushi V.

Results (all finals): Men: Anirban Roy Choudhary bt Anshuman Roy 11-8, 12-10, 11-6, 11-5.

Youth boys: Shreyal K Telang bt Akshay Mohanta 11-7, 11-8, 11-4, 6-11, 11-6.
Junior boys: Rakshith RB bt Shreyas Kulkarni 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-3, 10-12, 11-6.

Women: Shwetha bt Spoorthy 11-7, 11-8, 12-10, 13-11, 11-9.

Youth girls: Spoorthy MV bt Kushi V 11-7, 11-9, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 12-14, 5-11.

Junior girls: Spoorthy MV bt Gayathri Tankasali 11-6, 11-2, 11-6, 11-5.
