Centre to provide training to State coffee growers

The training programme will cover knowledge and skill building on different aspects of coffee cultivation, women-centric diversified vocational activities, production and marketing strategies, Minister of State for Commerce and Industries Jyotiraditya M Scindia told the Lok Sabha on Monday.

The training will be provided to 35,600 growers in three years, said the minister while replying to a question by G M Siddeshwara ( BJP). To a question by N Chaluvaraya Swamy of the JD(S), Minister for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy said the Centre has allotted Rs 10 lakh to take up conservation of Sri Chaluvaraya Swamy Temple at Melukote in Mandya district in this fiscal.

Minister of State for Railway K H Muniyappa told Chaluvaraya Swamy that the Karnataka Government has submitted a detailed proposal for laying 15 new railway lines in the State.
The Ministry of Railway has sanctioned Rs 120 crore to complete long-pending projects of Kottur-Harihar, Bidar-Gulbarga, Munirabad-Mahboobnagar ( all new lines), Shimoga-Talaguppa gauge conversion and doubling of the Ramanagaram-Mysore track.
