JOIN US Ten suicides have been reported in various parts of the City in the past 48 hours.
Reshma, 22, beautician, hung herself at her residence in Kashi Vishwanatha Layout, under K R Puram police limits.
According to police, the deceased, was married to Javed, 30, a private company employee, and both hailed from Hoskote. On Friday night, Javed informed her that he was going for prayers at a mosque and thereafter to meet his friends. The deceased requested him to offer prayers at home.
He, however, left home at around 8 pm, and on returning around 1 am, found his wife hanging from the ceiling, police said. On being informed by Javed , the police visited the spot but did not find any death note.
Scientist hangs himself
In another incident, Praveen, 36, scientist in a private company, committed suicide by hanging himself at his father’s residence in CK Achakattu police limits.
Police said he was married to Hema (name changed) and residing in ISRO Layout. The couple used to fight over petty issues and around six months back Praveen went back to his father's house in CK Park.
On Saturday morning, when his parents went to check on him in his room, they found him hanging, police said.
The parents and other family members informed the police that he was upset over domestic issues and took the extreme step. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
For a similar reason, Sampangi, 30, a vegetable vendor killed himself consuming poison near Kalasipalya Bus Stand under Kalasipalya police limits. Police said, he had married the woman he fell in love with around five years ago. They were residing in Haleguddadahalli. Since past five months, the couple would constantly bicker over financial disputes. Dejected over this, he consumed poison near his shop in Kalasipalya. A case has been registered in Kalasipalya police station.
Housewives end lives
K Sunanda, 36, housewife, hung herself at her resident in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar under Byappanahalli police limits.
Police said she was married to small time Kannada actor Sunil Kumar, 17 years ago and had separated after frequent fights between the couple. The couple have a son and a daughter.
In another incident, Vijayalakshmi, 34, housewife, was found hanging at her residence, in Lakshminarayanapura.
The deceased was suffering from health issues and this might have led her to take the extreme step, opined police.
Likewise, Rathnamma, 45, homemaker, also suffering from health ailments hung herself at her residence in Ramachandrapura. The family were shifting their house to the next lane which was being monitored by her husband. On returning home to pick up few materials, he found his wife hanging, police said.
Girls commit suicide
Revathi, 14, Class IX student, suffering from stomach ache committed suicide in Shantipura under Parappana Agrahara police limits. Police said she had not attended Huskur Governemnt High School on Friday where she was studying. Her father, Jaipal, a gardener and her mother, who works in a garment factory, found their daughter hanging, on returning.
In another incident in Srirampura police limits, Kokila, 14, who had passed her Class IX exams, hung herself at her home in MS Building in Okalipuram. The deceased, it is understood, was worried about her education being from poor economic background. Her father Perumal, a rickshaw driver, last saw her when he left for work and found her dead on return.
Raju, 27, an electrician, was found dead in a building under construction in Shivaji Nagar police limits. The deceased did return home on Friday after work. But on Saturday morning, when a family member went to the building under construction, owned by Raju's family members, found him hanging. The family members suspect he might have committed suicide due to failure in love, police added.
Rajamanikya, 50, painter, who had returned home after visiting Tamil Nadu, his native place, hung himself in the bathroom of his home, in Dayanand Nagar. His daughter, who went to check on her father, found him hanging.
