Annual sports meet of DK district police

In fact, Superintendent of Police himself was holding bat and showed his skill in cricket, surprising all his other collegues.

In the cricket match, Additional SP team defeated SP team. The SP team scored 48 runs in 10 overs. ASP Dr Chandragupta scored 18 runs and the team could reach the target within 9.3 overs.  Deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj, inaugurated the two-day police tournament. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports will help the police personnel to freshen their minds and get back to their duty with enthusiasm.
He said “major changes have been brought in law and order in Dakshina Kannada in the last one year. The incidents of  moral policing, illegal cattle transportation have come under control in the district.” 

He said “50 acres land has been sought for the setting up of Commissionerate. It is difficult to provide land within the city limits. However, land can be provided outside the city. There is also lack of space for the construction of police quarters.”

Illegal acquisition
Superintendent of Police Dr A S Rao said that firing range at Moodushedde has been illegally acquired by the locals. Hence, there is all possibility of locals getting hurt during firing exercise.  The illegal possession must be evicted.  The title deed of firing range must be transferred to police department.
 Police personnel from various police stations in the district are participating in various events at the tournament. The tournament will conclude on Thursday. ASP Ramesh was present.
