Ponnappa shuts out fancied Vikhyath

Unseeded Ponnappa CS continued his good run as he stormed into the boys under-15 final of the 19th W Suresh Kumar Memorial AISS Global 3-Star State ranking badminton tournament after he handed a shock 21-18, 21-15 defeat to third seed Vikhyath MR in the semifinal encounter on Monday.

In the girls under-15 doubles final, the second seed pair of Deetya Jagadish and Medha Shashidharan upset top seed Keerthana Shroff P and Tanya Hemanth 21-10, 21-17 to clinch the title.

In the under-13 boys singles section, top seed Shashank Reddy V was sent packing by fourth seed Saketh CS 21-15, 14-21, 21-18. Saket will take on Ajinkya Joshi in the final.
