Supervisor found dead, murder suspected

The body was found in a tank with just one foot water in building under construction

The body of 59-year-old Sudhakar Shetty, a resident of R T Nagar, was found in the water tank in the basement of the building. The police suspect that miscreants had murdered Sudhakar with lethal weapons as his forehead bore injuries. The deceased had worked at the site from 10 am to noon on Tuesday. He had instructed the labourers before leaving for City Market. "He had left for work and didn't return thereafter. Please search him," his son Pavan had told Cubbon Park police in his complaint.

According to the police, labourers working at the site found Shetty's body around 2 pm. The structure was being built by Shankarnarayan Construction Company and Sudhakar was a relative of the Company’s Managing Director Dr N Seetharamashetty. The four-feet deep water tank in which Sudhakar's body was found had about just one foot water. "The post mortem report will reveal the cause of the death. The Cubbon Park police have registered a case of unnatural death," DCP (Central) Dr G Ramesh told Deccan Herald.

Double murder
The CCB sleuths have arrested a man in connection with the murder of two members of his own family. Frank Anthony alias Frank (30) of Kanakapura Main Road, in connivance with his relative Srinivas, had allegedly murdered his own grand mother-in-law Lourd Mary of Magadi Road and decamped with her jewellery on August 8 last. The accused had also reportedly clubbed Srinivas to death when he refused to part with the booty left after repaying the former's debts, on August 9.

Frank had conspired to eliminate Lourd Mary for gain after becoming bankrupt in his business. For this, he took the help of Srinivas. On August 9, he brought her near Laggere saying her daughter Rajamma's condition was critical. There, he smashed her head with an iron rod, took away her jewellery and gave her a deadly blow with a stone slab. The next day, both the accused sold the jewellery for Rs 1.05 lakhs.Frank paid off his debts with the amount. But when Srinivas refused to part with the remaining booty, Frank murdered him too in a Nilgiri grove in Begur on August 9.
Later, in order to avoid suspicion, he attended the funeral of Srinivas. City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari had handed over the case to the CCB on November 18. After preliminary investigation, the CCB sleuths concluded that one of the relatives of the deceased was behind the double murder. They zeroed in on Frank and during the questioning, he admitted to the crime, the police said.

One found murdered
Unidentified persons stabbed a water tanker owner to death near Begur in the Electronic City police limits on Wednesday evening. The body of Mohan Reddy (28) of Rayasandra near Parappana Agrahara was found beneath the rear seat of a car parked at roadside at Mailasandra, the police said.
A few people grew suspicious as the car was parked since late afternoon. On finding the body inside the vehicle they alerted the police. Both the hands and legs of the accused were tied up.
