With the recent attacks on women, Sonido Muscials is conducting an educative workshop on the safety and security of women. It will be held at Jain College on July 27.

The four-hour long workshop will cover topics like how to fight violence and provide training on basic self-defence techniques that could be used in a potential hostile situation.

It will also provide an insight into the legal system and procedures related to crime against women, awareness on the increasing crimes on social media, cyber bullying, marital disputes and more.

The workshop will be conducted by Supriti, national vice-chairperson of SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth), a specialist in dealing with sexual harassment at workplaces.

Earlier associated with Infosys Technologies as the Chairperson of the Grievance Redressal Body for sexual harassment complaints, Supriti continues to train employees, HR and senior management on sexual harassment at the workplace, caste diversity, gender sensitisation, diversity and inclusion.

A spokesperson at several national and international forums, Supriti was invited as a speaker by UN Women, which deals with all women’s issues.

She also represented the country at the World Diversity Leadership Summit at the UN Headquarters, New York. She will be joined by Zaheda Mulla, ex-chairman of the sexual harassment committee of the Bangalore University.
The workshop is free for all and will be held on July 27, 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, Jain College, Jayanagar, Behind Big Bazaar, Jayanagar 9th Block. For details, call 9742068543 or 9663068526.
