Last Updated 01 August 2014, 20:57 IST

The family members of Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Dinesh Gundu Rao have returned 10 acres  and 9 guntas of Gomala land at Navarathna Agrahara in Jala Hobli of Bangalore North Taluk to the government. Now, the Bangalore North Tahsildar has written a letter to the deputy commissioner of Bangalore Urban district to release funds for fencing the property.

Releasing documents including the letter written by the tahsildar, social activist S R Hiremath claimed that the eviction order was passed following the sustained campaign launched by his Jan Sangram Parishad and the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources.

Demanding removal of Dinesh from the Cabinet, he urged government to recovery the remaining 55 acres of land that was allegedly in their (family’s) custody. Besides, Hiremath has sought rigorous criminal prosecution against the minister’s family and recovery of the ill-gotten benefits they have gained from the encroachment.
