JOIN USA school student was severly injured when a BMTC bus ran over her leg, near Cantonment Railway Station, under High Grounds Traffic police limits, on Tuesday morning.
Shubashini, 10, a resident of Matadahalli in RT Nagar, along with her sister boarded the BMTC bus (292C/2 - Majestic to Lingarajpuram), for her school in Lingarajapuram. But Subhashini lost balance and fell down. The driver moved the bus resulting in the rear wheel crushing her left leg.
Passengers noticing the girl under the bus alerted the driver who stopped the bus. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital and is being treated for injuries. Police have seized the bus and arrested the driver, booking him for negligent driving.
Youth found murdered
A 26-year-old youth was found murdered in a house-cum-food manufacturing unit in Kamalanagar, under Basaweshawara Nagar Police limits, on Tuesday morning.The deceased Ajju, a native of Jolarpet, in Tamil Nadu, was working in a parota making unit run by Kuppan.
The victim and his colleagues Srinivas and Babu were residing in the manufacturing unit, which prepares parotas for hotels in bulk. The incident came to light when Kuppan and wife Soundarya opened the door to find a gunny bag lying on the cot. When Kuppan checked the bag, he found the body of Ajju.
A shocked Kuppan informed the police who sent the body for post-mortem. Police said there were no external injuries on the body. They are awaiting autopsy report to ascertain the nature of killing. Police suspect Ajju might have been murdered by his colleagues who are currently absconding.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
Student hangs himself
A 16-year-old student committed suicide at his residence in Narayanappa Garden, under Mico Layout Police limits, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased Anand, a student in a private college, was upset the past few weeks over a relationship with a girl.
On Tuesday morning, Anand’s mother, a maid, rebuked him to concentrate on studies and not spend time over girls. After she left for work, Anand hung himself in his room. When the mother returned home after work she found him hanging. Neighbours informed the police, who sent the body for post-mortem. A case has been registered.
Woman alleges rape
A 25-year-old woman has alleged she was raped by her former boyfriend who had deserted her and married another.
The victim, a resident of Tavarekere, was in a relationship with her neighbour Vijay Kumar, 30, an electrician and native of Villupuram in Tamil Nadu. Following differences, Vijayakumar severed his relationship, to marry another.
On learning about his marriage, the victim, after her attempts to win him over failed, approached Mico Layout Police Station to register a case alleging he had cheated her and had physical relationship promising marriage. A rape case has been booked and the police are on the look out Vijay Kumar.
