Two killed in accidents

 Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the City on Sunday.
Shanthi, 59, a factory employee residing in Jalahalli, succumbed to injuries after falling off a BMTC bus. The incident occurred at around 5.30 am when she was waiting for a bus.

The driver of the bus (route number 252A) reportedly took off without realising that she was still boarding. She consequently lost balance and fell down on the ground and hit her head against a stone. Shanthi succumbed to her injuries on the spot due to excessive bleeding, added police.

The bus was seized and the driver was arrested. The colleagues of the deceased staged a protest after finding out that no one from the police department turned up at the spot. Later, senior police officials visited the spot and pacified the protestors, after which the body was sent for post-mortem, added a senior police officer.

In another incident, a 25-year-old hotel employee was mowed down by an unidentified vehicle near Kammanahalli Main Road under Banaswadi police limits.Kevin Wilfred, a native of Kerala, employed as a cook in a hotel at Kammanahalli, was walking back home after completing his duty at around 1 am, when an unidentified vehicle mowed him down.

He died on the spot as he suffered serious head injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot.
